'Tis the Season of Remembrance

Updated: Dec 14, 2021

The end of November marks the start of the annual Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Tree of Remembrance campaign. Through generous donations and memorials, the Auxiliary is able to assist the hospital in purchasing needed equipment for various departments. Funds collected this year will be used as a contribution towards the purchase of Samsung 32” Smart Healthcare Televisions along with pillow speaker interface for new patient rooms. These new devices come equipped with the latest technology: closed captioning, channel listings, hospital logo display, interactive options for call lights, patient guide access, on screen display language, and sleep timers. Along with all the smart TV apps you are used to. These smart devices will also be used as communication tools for the patients and give them one of the simple comforts of home.

Through the community’s generous donations and memorials, the Auxiliary has been able to assist the hospital in purchasing needed equipment for various departments annually since 1983. In the years past, the Auxiliary has helped raised funds for the purchase of 4 new High-Lo Exam Tables for the Rural Health Clinics, a GE Ultrasound Upgrade for the Stress Echocardiogram in the radiology department, Chemo/Infusion patient chairs, ER Trauma Lights, Code Ready Defibrillator for the emergency department, Surgical Tables, Surgical Retractor and many more items.

Memorial’s Auxiliary volunteers and their efforts to raise funds throughout the year through gift shop sales, bakes sales, and their largest endeavor, The Tree of Remembrance, aid Memorial Hospital in ensuring patient care, convenience and the latest technology to provide the best quality care possible. Contributions for the Tree of Remembrance can be submitted via the drop box outside the hospital cafeteria or sent to: Tree of Remembrance 1900 State Street, Chester, IL 62233.
